How to Install a Kitchen Water Heater: Wall, Standing and Under-Sink

Three Pre-Checks

  1. Wiring: storage models up to 2200W fit a 10A socket; instant models need a 16A dedicated line.
  2. Outlet direction: bottom outlet for under-sunk connections, top for wall pipes — not interchangeable.
  3. Space: measure clear height/depth/width, keep 5cm around the unit.

Five Universal Steps

  1. Shut off water and power.
  2. Mount the unit: drill-and-hang, stand on an anti-slip pad, or screw to the cabinet side panel.
  3. Plumb: add a tee on the cold valve, wrap tape 8-10 turns, connect inlet (blue) and outlet to the faucet cold pipe.
  4. Fill and bleed until water runs steady without bubbles.
  5. Power on: outlet water at 40°C+ after 20 minutes, no leaks, cool socket.
