The Math
At 220V, 5500W draws ~25A — far beyond a 10A socket (~2200W). Overheated plugs are the main fire cause for instant heaters.
Three Hard Requirements
- Wire: 2.5mm² copper minimum (4mm² for 6000W+).
- Dedicated 25A/32A breaker, shared with nothing.
- 16A switched socket, or hard-wired from the breaker.
Old Buildings
Run one dedicated 2.5mm² line (~200-400 CNY). If the main breaker is only 32A, choose a storage heater instead.
